Bobby Reagan, aka Barstool Reags, joins the show to discuss working for Barstool Sports and to breakdown and recap all things NCAA Tournament [Ep. 105]

Bpbby Reagan

It’s rare for a college basketball team to become a dynasty, even in a short time period. The UCONN women’s team has made it look easy, the Florida men’s squad won back-to-back in the mid-2000s, but that success certainly isn’t the norm. However, Villanova and head coach Jay Wright are looking to change that. Well, winning the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years is a good place to start.

Before we get into Episode 105, as a reminder, The Bridge is broadcast as a one-hour radio show Monday through Friday on Sports Radio America  at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. A brand new show airs on Wednesdays, then is released as a podcast on iTunes and on this website immediately following the episode. You can listen to the show live on Wednesday night on Sports Radio America here or through the TuneIn app. Additional bonus content, including a weekly gambling segment, can be found exclusively on this podcast.

  • “Sports News Read Like Real News” offered a flashback to around this time last year to when “A tradition unlike any other” came to an end – the Jim Nantz tie award (2:12).
  • The Bridge Question of the Week is: What will you remember most from this year’s NCAA Tournament, and why? Leave a voicemail or text in your answer to 929-BRIDGE7, that’s 929-274-3437, and you’ll make it on the next show.
  •  “The What??” — Highlighting some of the best soundbites and quotes from the latest week in sports. We’ve got Jim Nantz struggling with pop culture references and hot dog vendors (8:51).
  • This week’s guest is Bobby Reagan, who you might also know as Barstool Reags. Bobby covers college basketball for Barstool Sports and is also the co-host of the Fundamentally Sound podcast. It’s always next to impossible to find someone who covers college hoops that wants to talk about it just one day after covering the National Championship game, but Reags was thankfully kind enough to take some of his time to do so. He was also in San Antonio for the Final Four and was able to give some insight about seeing the final three games of the tournament first-hand. We’ll chat about working for Barstool Sports and what some of his responsibilities are with them before diving into the major storylines of the NCAA Tournament, including disappointments, Villanova’s short-term dynasty, who we might see make a run next year, and of course, Sister Jean.
  • Follow Reags on Twitter -> @BarstoolReags. The interview starts at the 13:31 mark.

However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk (38:18). You can follow Joe on Twitter @dukemich and read his movie reviews, previews and ratings at cupof-joe.com.
