Justin Termine, host of NBA Today on SiriusXM’s NBA Radio, joins the show to discuss covering the Summer League in Vegas, The King to LA, new faces in the East, a Morning Men debut and more [Ep. 116]

Justin Termine

The NBA has dominated the news for much of the past month, but it feels about time to put a cap on hoops and start switching gears to Major League Baseball and the National Football League. However, what better way to recap the major news and notes from the Association than with the triumphant return of SiriusXM NBA Radio’s Justin Termine.

Before we get into Episode 116, as a reminder, The Bridge is broadcast as a one-hour radio show Monday through Friday on Sports Radio America  at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. A brand new show airs on Wednesdays, then is released as a podcast on iTunes and on this website immediately following the episode. You can listen to the show live on Wednesday night on Sports Radio America here or through the TuneIn app. Additional bonus content can be found exclusively on this podcast.

  • This week’s guest is Justin Termine, friend of the show and host along with Eddie Johnson of NBA Today on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Sirius 207 and XM 86, Monday through Friday afternoon 4-7 Eastern Time. You can also find our previous shows with Justin about his career covering the NBA and other thoughts on the league at lundinbridge.com or on iTunes and Google Podcasts. Justin is one of the best at covering the NBA and one of the best guests we’re fortunate to have on the show, and since he wasn’t glued to the MLB All-Star Game, what better way to put a cap on the NBA news and notes for a bit. We’ll talk Summer League and what goes on behind the scenes in Las Vegas while covering it, some of the young players to watch in 2018 and some of the interviews conducted on NBA Today during that week, Eddie Johnson at the free throw line, LeBron James taking his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers and the construction of that team, what should happen with Kawhi Leonard (since this was recorded mere hours before he was officially traded to Toronto), what team could make a run in the East, early predictions for this upcoming season and a Morning Men debut??

  • “Five Minutes in the Film Room” with Joe Baress, former star of the prestigious John and Joe Sports Show, faces his fears of horror and breaks down “The First Purge,” which Rotten Tomatoes describes as: Behind every tradition lies a revolution. Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness. Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation (1:02:38). You can follow Joe on Twitter @dukemich and read his movie reviews, previews and ratings at cupof-joe.com.
